The Proverbs 31 Women’s Organization is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides free mentorship and professional etiquette training classes to underserved middle school and high school female students in the state of Texas.
The Proverbs 31 Women’s Organization came into existence to meet the needs of underserved and disadvantaged communities that lack the proper resources and support needed for young female minority students to excel academically and professionally. The organization was founded on December 19, 2016 in Austin, TX by Crystal Ngumezi, a young Nigerian American female engineer from Houston,TX.
To date, the organization has reached over 50 female students who come from underserved communities through P31 Academy and the P31 Mentorship Program.
In the state of Texas,
71.1% of economically disadvantaged students and 47.2% of female students in grades 7-8 drop out of public schools. In grades 9-12, 65.4% of disadvantaged students and 41.1 % of female students drop out of public schools.
Economically disadvantaged students dropout of school at a much higher rates than their peers, and female students make up almost half of all dropouts accounted for in the state of Texas for middle school and high school students. There are many factors that play a role in student dropouts, such as a lack of strong leadership and guidance in the home, a lack of encouragement to continue secondary education, and a lack of education on professional etiquette and STEM-related disciplines. The Proverbs 31 Women’s Organization exists to provide young women that fall into these categories with the necessary tools and resources needed to excel in life, by providing them with professional female mentorship, professional development training classes for college readiness and workforce development, and STEM-related experience and exposure to excite them to pursue professional careers.
The Proverbs 31 Women’s Organization has reached 45+ young women (13-18 years old) through the organization’s female mentorship and professional etiquette training programs.
The organization has expanded to multiple cities in the state of Texas and has partnered with major corporations such as The Boys and Girls Club and Microsoft.

Students enrolled in our professional development and female mentorship programs experienced a boost in self-confidence, more experience with presenting and speaking in front of people, a better understanding of what it takes to excel in life, exposure to technology and STEM-related fields, and encouragement and support to continue their education and pursue professional careers.
